18-year-old President &
CEO, presenting 7th Annual Scholarship to the Best Technology Student
at St. Bernadette Catholic School.
London, Ontario, June 26, 2006 – Emily DaCosta, a grade 8 student
of St.Bernadette Catholic School is the winner of the Best Technology
Award donated by Cyberteks Systems Corporation, O/A Cyberteks Design.
Emily will receive the Challenge Trophy, a plaque and a cheque for $
250 at the graduation ceremony, scheduled to be held at the Holy Cross
Church at 7.45 pm on Tuesday the June 27, 2006.
The 18-year old President & CEO of Cyberteks Design was a student
of St. Bernadette Catholic School in London, Ontario from January 2000
to 2002.
I am very thankful to the Principal, staff and students of both schools
(St. Bernadette and John Paul II) and to the London and District Catholic
School Board for their guidance and assistance given to me to achieve
my life long goals. "I am very pleased to offer this annual scholarship
to my old school, the St. Bernadette’s Catholic School in London.
This is the way I thank them.” said the Cyberteks Design President,
18-year-old Keith Peiris.
“Furthermore, I want to set an example to the larger businesses.
My company just celebrated our 7th anniversary on June 23rd. The schools
need help to provide a good education to the younger generation, and
I hope the business community in London will get this message”
Peiris added.
Keith is graduating from John Paul II Catholic School on June 28th
and he received admission to the University of Waterloo for fall 2006
in Honours Nanotechnology Engineering, Co-op Program. Keith also received
the University of Waterloo President’s Scholarship, Special Nanotechnology
Engineering Scholarship, and Leslie Klein Engineering Entrance Scholarship.
Keith also received the 2006 Canadian Millennium Scholarship. Ontario's
Lieutenant Governor, The Honourable James K. Bartleman, and the Canada
Millennium Scholarship Foundation are hosting a reception for the winners
of the 2006 Entrance Award on June 29, 2006 at 10.30 am at the Delta
Chelsea Hotel, Churchill Room, 2nd floor, 33 Gerrard Street West, Toronto,
Ontario.
Furthermore, Keith was one of Canada’s Top 20 Under 20 Award
recipients. The awards were presented On June 6, 2006 by Akela Peoples,
President and CEO of Youth in Motion and Debbie Coull-Cicchini the Chief
Operating Officer, Ontario Region, ING Canada. The event was emceed
by Leslie Roberts of Global Television. This award has been given for
outstanding innovation, leadership and achievement. The recipients of
this prestigious youth award are chosen from thousands of nominees from
all across Canada. Subsequent to the awards ceremony all award recipients
were honoured at the Empire Club of Canada on June 6, 2006.

Keith continues to be recognized for his dedication and innovation,
some of his achievements include:

and "TOP 50 Web design companies in Canada" for four years

- Participated in the Team Canada Trade Mission led by the Prime Minister
of Canada and 10 Provincial Premiers to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong
