11 YEAR OLD PRESIDENT & CEO, RUNNER-UP FOR BEST WEB DESIGN CONTEST AT ATLANTIC DIGITAL MEDIA FESTIVAL AWARDS

October 31, 1999, London, Ontario, Canada - An 11-year-old London web designer, Keith Peiris, the President & CEO of Cyberteks Design, was the runner-up in the Best Web Design contest at the Atlantic Digital Media Festival Awards, held from October 28 - 30, 1999 at Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Keith’s nomination to the contest was the Canada Wide Science Fair 2000 website he designed, scheduled to be held in London, Ontario, Canada from May 13-21, 2000. The website was designed using Macromedia Flash and Fireworks. The other contestants were from all over North America. To see the photo gallery please CLICK HERE. Earlier this year, Keith Peiris was brought on stage and introduced during the Macromedia keynote presentation at the newMedia 99 Conference and Trade Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in June. At age 11, Keith is one of the youngest web designers in North America using Macromedia Flash in commercial web sites.

About the Atlantic Digital Media Festival & Awards
The Atlantic Digital Media Festival & Awards celebrates the achievements and the creative talents of new media professionals. The Awards competition showcases the best and most creative new media developers. The Awards are presented as part of a Festival with many special and rewarding aspects. The first Festival was held in 1997 and met with an enthusiastic response from the industry and community. The event has grown and provides an eclectic mix of participants and a program that considers new media, and the crossover from the music, video and film industry resulting in very stimulating and productive discussions and networking and, of course, a great time!

ADM Festival '99 will see another very rich and stimulating program featuring national and international speakers focusing on strategic issues.

On the shores of the Bras d'Or, in the heart of Cape Breton, multimedia developers, internet providers, distributors, animators, educators, publishers, telecommunications and cable professionals, industry suppliers, film and video producers, investors and government representatives will join a mix of musicians, performers and culture pioneers to celebrate new media and look into the future. In the very community where Alexander Graham Bell designed communications and media engines that empowered our grandparents for the 20th century, Festival participants will consider the digital media that will launch the new millennium.
